Summary

An opening exposition of Paul's greeting to the church at Corinth, unfolded under three headings. First, God's Call — believers are called to be saints, set apart in Christ Jesus together with all who in every place call upon the name of the Lord. Second, God's Transformative Grace — grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ are no mere greeting but the very power that enriches the church in all speech and all knowledge, confirming the testimony of Christ among them. Third, God's Unyielding Faithfulness — the same God who called them will sustain them to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ, for God is faithful, by whom we were called into the fellowship of his Son.
